Feed Stock Preparation

The key to any non-wood process is fiber preparation. This is a dry process that uses an equipment called Depither for Bagasse, Straw cutter in case of ricestraw or wheat straw and Deduster systeI

  • If the wheat/rice straw is lengthy, it is cut to the acceptable length by the straw cutter.
  • For bagasse, the fiber is put into a bale breaker to be converted into loose bales and fed into the Depither via a pin feeder that regulates the flow.
  • The fiber is separated from pith in the case of bagasse or dust in the case of wheat straw.
  • The de-pithed or dedusted fiber is then sent to the next stage of the process.
  • The pith or dust can be used as biofuel.​

Wet Washing System

Wet Cleaning System comprises of pulper, aqua-separator, screw press, DSM screens etc. It is used to wash agro-based raw materials to remove impurities like silica and dirt. Efficient washing of raw material and maximum recovery of water are the main functions of the wet cleaning system. EPTL produces high quality, cost effective wet cleaning systems.

Continuous Digester System

Diminishing availability of hardwood and increasing prices, have forced major pulp producers to switch over to agro based raw materials like bagasse, wheat straw, rice straw etc. EPTL has developed indigenously and designed several continuous digester systems to process these raw materials.
This system has various salient advantages over batch digesters in terms of better process control, consistent and uniform quality of pulp, low cooking time, and low steam consumption thereby reducing the production costs and providing flexibility to work with various raw materials.

Brown Stock Washing System

EPTL Brown stock washing comprises series of equipment unit each especially designed to accomplish a specific operation. Because of the nature of the system and relationship to each unit of the flow sheet, each unit must be considered in proper sequence. Consider Brown stock washer as a pulp obtained from non-wood agriculture residue prior to washing but after it has been cooked in Digester for removal of binding material (lignin) and other non cellulose material present in the wood chips.
